Anime Origins Team Builds
Copyable launch comps for farm, bosses, and damage-over-time lanes.
A letter on the unit tier list does not tell you where to stand. Anime Origins is an online co-op tower defense: cash, range, and one Immortal trait have to cover the whole team, not one highlight reel. These launch comps assume the game is live (14 August 2026), private servers are free, and you can fill missing roles with other players. Swap names from the units hub when your banner luck disagrees with the screenshot in your head.
Build in this order: income first, then a wave clearer, then a boss answer. Players who place three Secrets with no farm stall on upgrade gold during later Story chapters and Infinite breakpoints. Players who place only Leorio never kill the boss. The four comps below are starting shapes, not locked loadouts.
Beginner lobby (no Secret yet)
Goal: clear early Story Mode chapters, claim codes after Level 10, and survive until a Mythic carry lands.
- Carry: Goju or Noroto if you have them. Tranko if you do not. Goju’s Infinity buys time. Noroto’s cloak is the timed burst. Tranko spikes when five-plus enemies sit in range.
- Farm: Bluma on a busy lane. Leorio beside the upgrade path if Bluma did not drop.
- Filler: Itsoda or Kingo on a long sightline. Do not feed them EXP past the point a future Secret would want those materials.
- Traits: Ace or Haste III on the carry. Hustler or Looting on Bluma. Ignore Immortal pity until a Secret exists.
Play this until Story chests pay for summons. Then open how to summon units rather than rerolling Tranko into a brick. Beginner comps fail when every slot is a damage Legendary and nobody prints cash.
Farm comp (Story grinding and Infinite income)
Goal: max upgrade tempo so later waves still pay. This is the default Infinite Mode shape until leaks start.
- Farm core: Bluma (Data Analyst) with Hustler. Training Data checkpoints from 5 percent to 30 percent income are the reason this unit stays A after Secrets arrive.
- Refund spice: one Leorio, not two. Golden Refund only rolls once among nearby copies.
- Carry: Madara or Noroto for dense waves. Madara’s Calamity AOE funds Bluma’s data by killing packs. Noroto is the budget version.
- Flex: Cursed Lover if Copy can steal a farm or slash active from a teammate.
Place Bluma where kills actually happen. Training Data does not accrue from a unit staring at an empty entrance. When Infinite income breakpoints feel late, you are missing farm range, not a fourth Secret. Sell Leorio once Hustler Bluma and a real carry are fully upgraded.
Boss comp (Raids and chapter bosses)
Goal: stun, boss percent, and a single Immortal. Use this for Raids and Story bosses that ignore trash AOE.
- Stun carry: Valcrad (Unleashed). Coffin Trap is a 7 second boss stun on an 18 second shared cooldown, once per boss. Third Eye and Bloodthirst keep single-target damage honest after the coffin.
- Boss trait: Ascendant on Valcrad or Madara. Immortal if the team agrees you own the one-per-lobby lock.
- Backup AOE: Madara or Goju so adds during the boss window still die.
- Farm: Bluma still belongs here. Raid upgrades are not free because the boss has a health bar.
- Copy: Cursed Lover holding a stun or Heaven Splitter steal if a teammate placed Madara.
Do not stack two Coffin Trap fantasies on one track and assume the stuns chain forever. The cooldown is shared. Online co-op helps because another player can hold Goju slow while you hold Valcrad. Private servers make that assignment easier than a 22-player public scramble.
DoT comp (Decay lanes and ghoul uptime)
Goal: damage over time plus units that care about bleeding or Restriction Release.
- DoT carry: Valcrad once Restriction 3 is up, or any Decay-trait unit that actually applies DoT. Decay is plus 40 percent DoT damage; it is wasted on a pure burst Secret that never ticks.
- Mark setup: Madara’s Calamity mark if you need a detonation on top of ticks.
- Slow: Goju Infinity Expansion so targets stay in the DoT puddle.
- Farm: Bluma, because DoT comps leak when they cannot afford the next cooldown upgrade.
- Avoid: Kingo-only boards. Plus 10 percent magic is not a DoT plan.
If Decay has not dropped, do not force this comp. Play the farm or boss shape instead. Traits should follow the kit, which is why the trait tier list sits next to this page.
Placement notes that all four comps share
Put farm on the lane that already gets kills. Put Valcrad where the boss path must cross the coffin. Put Madara on bends where AOE clips two lanes. Put Cursed Lover in Copy range of the actives you actually want. Feed EXP only to the carry and the farm unit; Legendary fillers are rented space.
After the board is stable, evolve the carry with materials from Story, Infinite, and Raids. The how to evolve units page covers that step. Builds that skip evolution look fine in chapter one and fold when health bars double.
When a Secret finally lands, do not delete the farm slot to make room for a second highlight unit. Sell Leorio, keep Bluma, and move Immortal onto the new carry. That swap, not a new letter grade, is what turns a beginner lobby into a Raid lobby without rerolling the entire account.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
What is the best beginner team in Anime Origins?
Goju or Noroto plus Bluma or Leorio. Push [Story Mode](/guides/story-mode/) until a Secret drops instead of forcing an S+ screenshot.
Do I still need a farm unit in Raids?
Yes. [Raids](/guides/raids/) still charge for upgrades. Bluma with Hustler pays for Valcrad and Madara upgrades during the boss window.
Can two players both run Immortal?
No. Immortal is one per team. Agree in co-op who owns it, then put the other player's carry on Ascendant or Overseer.
When do I switch from farm to boss comps?
When trash waves die but bosses live. Swap in Valcrad and Ascendant, and follow the [Raids guide](/guides/raids/) for party size and materials.
Where are the unit kits for these names?
Secret kits are on [Secret units](/players/secret-units/). Mythics are on [Mythic units](/players/mythic-units/). Fillers are on [Legendary and Epic units](/players/legendary-epic/).
