Anime Origins How to Summon Units

Spend Gems on a carry and a farm unit, then stop. Secret banners are not a reason to go broke on day one.

How to Summon

Summoning is the account gate in Anime Origins. Banners take Gems and return units by rarity. Everything you do after that — feeding EXP, evolving, rolling traits — assumes you picked something worth the materials. A Secret that sits in the inventory while Story dies is a worse result than a Mythic you actually place.

Gems come from play, quests, and codes. The launch set on the Codes Hub is the largest free pile most players will see in week one. Redeem at Level 10, then decide a budget before you touch a banner. The game will happily let you empty the wallet. It will not refund the animation.

How banners work

Open the summon interface from the hub and pick the live banner. Each pull spends Gems. Multi-pulls spend more and roll the same table more times; they do not change the rarity math in your favor beyond volume. Read the banner title. If a rate-up names a Secret, that is the only reason to spend past your first usable team.

Units arrive at a base form. They are not finished. You still feed EXP and, later, spend evolution materials. Summoning is acquisition, not power. If you treat a fresh Secret as a completed build, you will lose Story chapters that a fed Legendary would have held.

Secret versus Mythic

Secret is the ceiling. The live Secret kits are the ones people screenshot.

Madara (Edo Tensei) is an AOE carry. Heaven’s Pressure drops Sosano blades that slam for a large chunk of his damage and apply Calamity, which detonates a portion of the damage he dealt while the mark was up. Sosano Time starts at 20 seconds and grows when he gets kills, up to 180. Heaven Splitter is the panic button: a Perfect Sosano slash at 500 percent damage out to triple range. If you pull him, he is the unit you feed.

Valcrad (Unleashed) is the Alucard parody. Third Eye adds crit and slowly buys range. Bloodthirst scales with bleeding enemies. Coffin Trap stuns a boss for 7 seconds the first time that boss walks over it, with an 18-second shared trap cooldown. Restriction Release counts kills and eventually spills ghouls. He wants time on the field, not a single burst chapter.

Cursed Lover (Pure Love) is the Yuta kit. Lingering Queens Heads fire mini Love Beams. Copy stores up to four active abilities from other units, original effects and cooldowns included. Love Beam hits five times in a wide line for 300 percent total. He is a team enabler as much as a carry. If your friends bring strong actives, his Copy slot is the reason to keep him.

Full Secret writeups live on Secret Units. Do not memorize every number before you own one.

Mythic is the roster you should plan around. Goju (Honored One) runs Infinity, which nullifies attacks that reach him, and Infinity Expansion, which slows enemies that linger in range. He is a lane stabilizer. Bluma (Data Analyst) is the farm unit: allied kills near her generate Training Data (1 / 5 / 25 for enemy, mini-boss, boss) and convert that into wave-start income at 35, 80, 145, 240, and 380 Data. Noroto (Linked) stacks Chakra into a 20-second Nine-Tails Cloak with more damage, less cooldown, and more range, plus a small AOE barrage while cloaked. Shinoru is in the Mythic list at launch, but the public kit is still thin; do not spend a Gem budget chasing a kit you cannot read.

Legendaries — Tranko, Itsoda, Kingo, Neli — clear early Story. Epic Leorio is a cash-refund support, not a carry. Pulling them is fine. Building the whole account around them is how people reroll traits on units they will bench.

Do not dump all Gems on day one

A useful stop rule: summon until you have one damage unit you will evolve and one income unit you will place every match. Then close the banner. Extra Gems wait for the next rate-up or for a second copy you actually need. Banner FOMO is real in Roblox tower defense. Your Story clear does not care that a clip showed three Secrets in one ten-pull.

If codes left you rich, split the pile. Spend a third. Bank the rest. If the first third already produced a Secret carry plus Bluma, you are done. If it produced only Legendaries, spend another third, then stop again and play. Units you never place are inventory.

Why Bluma is the farm summon

Damage without income dies on late Story and on Infinite. Bluma’s job is to sit where allies get kills and turn those kills into the next upgrade. She does not need Immortal. She needs to be placed early and left alone. If your banner luck is only Mythic, a Bluma plus Goju or Noroto team is a real account. Look at the Unit Tier List for how those names sit against each other, then come back here before you spend the next Gem.

Leorio is the budget farm substitute. Golden Refund has a 10 percent chance to return 15 percent of an upgrade. Only one nearby Leorio can roll the refund. He is not Bluma. He is the Epic you keep if Bluma never showed up.

After the pull

Feed EXP into the unit you will place, not into every new face. Evolution materials come from Story, Raids, and bosses; they are slower than Gems. A summoned unit that never gets fed is a screenshot. If you pulled a Secret, that Secret is the feed target. If you pulled Bluma and a Legendary, feed the Legendary for damage and still place Bluma every match.

Dupes are feed, not a second team, until you know a unit has a meaningful copy bonus. Most launch kits do not ask you to run two of the same Secret.

When the banner closes and you still have Gems, leave them. The next session is Story pacing and a first evolution, not another ten-pull because the lobby chat said the Secret rate felt high.

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

What currency do I use to summon in Anime Origins?

Gems. They come from play, quests, and codes. Cash inside a match cannot buy banner pulls.

Should I keep summoning until I get a Secret?

No. Stop when you have a damage unit you will evolve and a farm unit you will place. A Mythic pair with Bluma clears more Story than an empty wallet waiting on Madara.

Is Bluma worth using Gems on?

Yes, if you lack an income unit. Her Training Data checkpoints raise wave-start income, which pays upgrades on later Story and Infinite waves.

Where do I see Secret unit kits?

Open Secret Units for Madara, Valcrad, and Cursed Lover. Use the Unit Tier List when you need a rank instead of a kit dump.

Do codes help with summons?

Yes. Redeem the live list at Level 10 before you spend. Launch codes are often the only large Gem drop you will see in the first week.
